The warmer temperatures have finally arrived and the snow is starting to melt.  We are all prepared for the warmer weather, but is your house?

Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind as the snow begins to melt and to ensure that your house stays dry.

The Roof

With the extended period of cold temperatures the snow has stayed packed on our roofs.  What you want to do is rake as much snow off the roof as possible.  Only go on your roof if it safe to do so.  We recommend that you hire a snow removal company to remove the snow for you.

Soffit and Eaves

Check the soffits to make sure there is no debris that could stop the flow of water and also check for signs of ice damming.
Make sure that your downspouts are down and extended well away
