Community Events in Regina this December 2018

The holidays are fast approaching and there are plenty of fun activities happening in and around Regina that you can enjoy with family and friends.

Concerts and Performances In Regina:

A Celtic Family Christmas. One of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia’s most important exports and a superstar in the Celtic music world, fiddler, and step-dancer, Natalie MacMaster has built a sterling, multi-decade career on electrifying playing and must-see performances. Show is at 8pm/ (Casino Regina).

(December 5-17) White Christmas. SaskExpress presents White Christmas based upon the Paramount Pictures Film.  Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after WWII.  The dazzling score features well known standards including: Blue Skies, I Love a Piano, How Deep Is The Ocean, and the perennial favourite White Christmas. Show is at 2pm/7:30pm. (SaskExpress).

(December 7) Jeffery Straker & Friends - A Very Prairie Christmas.  An evening with award winning singer-songwriter-pianist Jeffery Straker and some of his musical friends.  Get into the festive spirit with this evening of home-spun talent.  Tickets start at $25.  (Casino Regina).

(December 4) Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leachy Present

(December 7, 14, 21) The Laugh Shop.  Regina’s best line comedy show.  The Laugh Shop On Tour Comedy Club is host to touring comedians from around the world.  Doors open at 7pm. (Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Regina Downtown).

(December 8) Regina Sympathy Orchestra presents Shumiatcher Pops: Chantal Kreviazuk.  Canadian superstar and classically trained pianist Chantal Kreviazuk performs her greatest hits with a dash of Christmas Spirit in this holiday classic. Show is at 8pm. Tickets $49.35-$109.20. (Conexus Art Centre).

(December 9) Cirque Musica Holiday Presents Wonderland.  This is a fun-filled concert experience for the whole family featuring the talented cast of Cirque Musica accompanies by holiday songs performed live by members of the Regina Sympathy Orchestra. Show is at 7pm. (Conexus Art Centre).

(December 10) The Tenors: Home for the Holidays.  The Tenors - Clifton, Fraser, and Victor, have been thrilling audiences around the world with their powerful songs, outstanding harmonies, and undeniable charm.  Blending classical music and contemporary pop, the award winning and multi-platinum selling band have achieved international success.  Show is at 8pm. (Conexus Art Centre).

(December 11) Letterkenny Live! - The Encore!  A 90min comedy experience, starring Jared Keeso (Wayne), Nathan Dales (Daryl), K Trevor Wilson (Dan), and Mark Forward (Coach), the stars of the wildly popular award winning CraveTV original series LETTERKENNY.Show starts at 6pm. (Conexus Arts Centre)

(December 16) South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra Christmas Brunch and Concert. Enjoy a fabulous brunch as well as a classical concert with pieces by Anderson, Bach, Bedelt, and Tchaikovsky.  Doors open at 11am.  Tickets are $25-$50.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(December 19-22) Rory Allen - Merry Christmas Baby. Rory Allen is a world-class entertainer and Elvis Presley tribute artist.  His incredible show has been extremely well-received by even the most faithful Elvis fans.  Show is at 7:15pm. (Casino Regina).

Sports, Recreation, and Leisure Events in Regina

(December 1) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the PA Raiders.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

(December 2) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Medicine Hat Tigers.  Game is at 4pm.  (Brandt Centre).

(December 14) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Moose Jaw Warriors.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

(December 28) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Brandon Wheat Kings.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

Food + Drink Events in Regina

(December 1) Mead Day at Bushwakker.  The Bushwakker Brewpub is set to release the 2018 edition of the limited edition, very popular, and very Saskatchewan Blackberry Mead.  Doors open at 11am - arrive early.  (Bushwakker Brewpub).

(December 4) Lights OUT at the Willow. When the sun sets at the Willow on Wascana, we turn OUT the lights and turn ON your tastebuds!  Enjoy four master courses in TOTAL darkness at the Willow on Wascana.  This is a one-of-a-kind culinary adventure that you will be talking about for a long time.  Dinner starts at 6:15pm.  $65 for dinner. $35 for optional Wine Flight. (December 13) Adult Science Night: Sweet Science.  Explore the world of sweet, sweet science and things candy related.  Learn about the world of crystals, how acidic drinks react with common objects, and export the stars in Starlab!  Event starts at 7pm. (Saskatchewan Science Centre).

(December 31) New Year’s Eve at Casino Regina.  The event will feature DJ Baby Daddy, FODDOG and the New Montagues, all local artists. It’s sure to be a good time!  Event starts at 8:15pm.  (Casino Regina).

Family Events in Regina

(December 1-25) Sparkle Tour. Your one stop solution for all Christmas light tours in Regina.  Check out Regina’s best holiday light displays.  Visit www.sparkletour.ca for more info and maps.

(December 1,8,15) Regina Farmer’s Market.  Winter might be here buy the Farmer’s Market is continuing indoors.  Great local products including: baking, produce, crafts, and other great idea.  Doors open at 9am. (Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre)

(December 2) Christmas Expo 2018.  70 Vendors come together to showcase their products in one location. One stop shop for all your Christmas needs.  Doors open at 11am.  $4 for admission. (Conexus Arts Centre).

(December 5) CP Holiday Train with Terri Clark, Kelly Prescott & Sierra Noble.  The Canada Pacific (CP) Holiday Train will soon set out once again to entertain hundreds of thousands of people.  It is celebrating 20 years of collecting food and raising funds for food banks across North America.  Bring your non-perishable food items.  Starts at 7:15pm. (Old Mosaic Stadium Parking Lot)

(December 6) Light up the Village.  One sparkling night a year, the businesses of Regina’s Cathedral area stay open late so you can get your Christmas shopping done in style.  There will be goodies, hot drinks, and deal.  Starts at 5pm.  (Cathedral Village, 13th Ave).

(December 6)  Lights Across Canada.  Join the Parliaments across the country as we light up the night with our holiday decorations.  Featuring free indoor and outdoor family activities, a holiday selfie station, and Santa himself.  Festivities start at 6pm. (Legislative Building).

(December 14) RMF Holiday Night Market.  Join the Regina Farmer’s Market for a festive evening of Holiday shopping combined with local food, drinks & music.  Market opens at 5pm. $2 suggested donation. (Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre)

(December 14) Old Fashioned Victoria Christmas.  Enjoy an evening of free family fun.  This event features Victorian-style festivities such as Christmas caroling, gingerbread cookie decorating, horse-drawn wagon rides and a special visit from the North Pole.  A donation for Regina’s Food Bank is encouraged.  Event starts at 5:30pm/ (Government House).

(December 16) The Jingle Patrol Holiday Festival.  The RCMP Heritage Centre’s family-friends event features horse drawn wagon rides, holiday themed crafts and games, special holiday missions, movies, storytelling, and more.  Festivities start at 1pm. (RCMP Heritage Centre)

(December 31) Noon Year’s Eve. Big Bang Stage Show and a bunch of make and take activities and other special events. Activities start at 10am. (Saskatchewan Science Centre).
