Special Event Highlight: WASKIMO Winter Festival 2018

  • When: February 18, 2019
  • Where: Wascana Park in Regina

Family Day Monday means awesome indoor and outdoor winter fun at Wascana Park.  Plus, it is the only day of the year that the public is allowed onto the ice of Wascana Lake.

Concerts and Performances in Regina

(February 5) Paul Brandt the ‘Journey Tour’ with High Valley.  Paul Brandt is the most awarded male Canadian country artist in history.  He is joined by Canada’s up and coming country group, High Valley.  Tickets are $53.50-$97.50.  Concert starts at 7pm.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(February 6) Jeremy Hotz - Dangerously Handsome Tour.  Known for astute observational comedy and charming good looks, Jeremy Hotz is one of the most unique stand-up comics working today.  Tickets are $50.  Doors open at 7:15pm  (Casino Regina).

(February 9) The Trews with Altameda.  The Trews are bringing you brand new songs from their sixth full length album, Civilianaires.  Accompanying them is Edmonton based, Alameda, with their bold, and unrelenting sound.  Tickets are $40.  Doors open at 7:15pm (Casino Regina).

(February 9) Regina Symphony Orchestra presents Masterworks: Elgar Cello Concerto.  Elgar’s Cello Concerto stands at the pinnacle of the repertoire for cello and orchestra.  Denise Djokic makes her RSO debut in this monumental work, alongside other gems from England’s greatest composers.  Tickets are $43.95-109.20.  Show starts at 8pm.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(February 13)  Matt Dusk.  Award-winning, and multi-platinum-selling, Matt Dusk, is embarking on the most ambitious project of his already impressive career.  Tickets are $30.  Doors open at 7:15pm.  (Casino Regina).

(February 14) Winnipeg Comedy Festival Presents: Down with Love.  Celebrate your independence.  Down with Love is a night of non-romantic revelry featuring comedians Derek Seguin, Erica Sigurdson, Spencer Adamus, and host Dean Jenkinson.  Tickets are $30.  (Casino Regina).

(February 16)  Snake Oil.  It’s the classic music that you love and can’t get enough of.  Are these rock icons the real thing or is this Snake Oil?  Tickets are $33.  Doors open at 7:15pm.  (Casino Regina).

(February 16)  Regina Symphony Orchestra presents Shumiatcher Pops: Frank Sinatra and Beyond.  Called “two parts Frank Sinatra and one part Billy Joel,” crooner and pianist Tony DeSare takes on the legend himself.  Tickets are $49.35-$109.20.  Show starts at 8pm  (Conexus Arts Centre). 

(February 20) Home Free’s Timeless World Tour.  The all vocal (a cappella) country music sensation is bringing Nashville country standards and country-dipped pop hits.  Audiences can expect new music and new stylings, plus country hits, and classic fan favourites.  Tickets are $32 to $50).  Show starts at 8pm.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(February 24) Matthew Good with Posey.  This is Good’s first solo run in Canada since 2007.  See the prolific songwriter bring his inimitable solo acoustic performance to life.  Tickets are $40.  Doors open at 7:15pm.  (Casino Regina).

Food + Drink Events in Regina

(February 2) Taste of Cathedral.  Experience tasting from some of the Cathedral Neighbourhoods finest restaurants.  Also features musical guest, Resonance Duo.  Tickets are $20.  Doors open at 5:30pm.  (G. Marconi Italian Club of Regina).

(February 3) Super Bowl Party Sponsored by Budweiser.  Join us for an unlimited appetizer buffet, games, and over $7000 in cash and prizes to be won.  There will even be a special appearance by the Saskatchewan Roughrider Cheerleaders.  Tickets are $20.  Doors open at 4:30pm.  (Casino Regina).

(February 8) Kedleston Gospel Camp Fundraising Gala.   You can expect amazing food, fun, friends, entertainment by Aaron Ruston, and a silent auction.  Tickets are $40/person or $320 for a table for 8.  Event starts at 6pm. Tickets can be purchased at Hillcrest Church in Moose Jaw or Regina Apostolic Church.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(February 10)  Regina Floral Conservatory Valentines Tea.  Valentines tea with your choice of a light lunch or dainties only.  Tickets are $10 or $15.  (1450B Fourth Avenue).

Sports, Recreation, and Leisure Events in Regina

(February 1) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Saskatoon Blades.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

(February 2)  WWE Live: Road to Wrestlemania.  This is your chance to see: The Intercontinental Championship - Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor vs. Drew Mcintyre and many more WWE Superstars.  Tickets start at $20.  (Brandt Centre).

(February 15) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Edmonton Oil Kings.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

February 20) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Kootenay Ice.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

(February 22) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Calgary Hitmen.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

(February 27) Regina Pats.  Cheer on the Regina Pats as they take on the Red Deer Rebels.  Game is at 7pm. (Brandt Centre).

                                                                     

Adult Events in Regina

(February 1-2) Ultimate Women’s Show.  SIP & SHOP with Ultimate Women.  Two day pop-up shopping event with special cocktails and tastings.  Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or online. Doors open at 4pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday. (Conexus Arts Centre).

(February 22-24)  Taboo: The Naughty but Nice Sex Show.  This is an upscale adult playground dedicated to enhancing lifestyles, encouraging romance, personal betterment, and all things Taboo.  Enjoy entertainment, seminars, shopping, and fashion shows.  Tickets are $15.  Doors open at 5pm on Friday, 2pm on Saturday, and 12pm on Sunday.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

Family Events in Regina

(February 2, 9, 16, 23) Regina Farmer’s Market.  Winter might be here but the Farmer’s Market is continuing indoors.  Great local products including: baking, produce, crafts, and other great idea.  Doors open at 9am. (Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre).

(February 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24)  Centennial Market.  Indoor market located in the heart of the Warehouse District with over a hundred vendors.  (1230 Broad Street).

(February 6-9) Into the Woods.  Stephen Sodheim’s, Into the Woods, is a wonderful, modern musical retelling of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales…with a twist.  (Ridell Theatre, University of Regina).

(February 18)  Board Games at Government House.  Government House has partnered with Boards N Beans to host a board game time in the Sir Richard Lake Hall in which families will be able to play a number of board games at no cost.  (Government House).
