Community Events in Regina this September 2019

What a great summer it has been!  Regina has had a lot of great events to enjoy from Garth Brooks and the Queen City Ex to the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the 50th Regina Folk Festival.  Even though the kids are heading back to school and the temperatures are cooling there is still so much to see and do in Regina this month.

Event Highlight - Chicago

When: September 11 to October 7 (performances every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)


Chicago tells the storey of Roxie Hart and is based on real-life murders and it is set amidst the razzle dazzle of the 1920s.  It is loaded with show-stopping songs and breath taking choreography.

Concerts and Performances In Regina

(September 6-8)  SwampFest 2019. SwampFest is a local music festival which aims to support local, upcoming music artists.  (Willow Island in Wascana Park, Royal Saskatchewan Museum, The German Club, and The Sound Stage).

(September 12)  UB40.  Britain’s world-famous UB40 released their first new album in five years in September 2018 and are now embarking on an extensive world tour.  Doors open at 7:15pm.  (Casino Regina).

(September 14)  Wayne Lee.  From a childhood fascination with magic and visualization, Way’s gift and passion for seeing great potential and acting on it has allowed him to grow his career.  Show starts at 8pm.  (Casino Regina).

(September 15)  Jo Koy.  This comedian has come a long way from his modest beginnings in a Las Vegas coffee house. Now he is touring the world fresh off the release of his Netflix special, Comin’ In Hot.  Doors open at 7:15pm.  (Casino Regina).

(September 18)  Love, Betrayal & Redemption: Death Camp Survivor Tells His Story.  Holocaust survivor Irving Roth has shares his memoirs of life before, during, and after WWII.  Show starts at 7pm.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(September 16 - 22)  Art Now Art Fair.  Art Now showcases local, national, and international artists and artisans with commercial fine art galleries coming together in one location.  (Saskatchewan Production Studios, 1831 College Avenue).

(September 20)  Nashville Stars LIVE! A tribute to Wynonna, Shania, and Underwood.  See tribute artists rocking the ultimate country music show all on one stage.  Show starts at 8pm.  (Casino Regina).

(September 21)  Brent Butt.  Enjoy the comedic act of Brent Butt.  You know him from Corner Gas but he continues to the tour the country preforming standup as often as he can.  Doors open at 6:15pm.  (Casino Regina).

(September 25 - 29) The Book of Mormon.    The Book of Mormon is a nine time Tony Award winning musical and the Washington Post says, “It is the kind of evening that resorts your faith in musicals.”  Show starts at 8pm with a 2pm matinee on the 28th and 29th.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(September 26)  Carroll Baker.  Come and enjoy the musical creativity of Carroll Baker.  Show starts at 8pm.  (Casino Regina).

Food + Drink Events in Regina

(September 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28) Supper in the Orchard.  Every Friday and Saturday starting in May a different local chef will create a multi-course supper using mainly ingredients from local farms and our orchard.  Most of the proceeds goes back to the Culinary Federation which sends their members to locations around the world for training and for competitions. The evening starts on the outdoor patio(weather permitting) where you can enjoy a glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage, and enjoy the outdoors and beautiful view of the valley. The night starts at 6pm.  (Over the Hill Orchards and Winery, Lumsden).

(September 23 - 29)  Bushwakker Octoberfest Week.  The official Oktoberfest celebration in Munich will be underway as the Bushwakker weeklong celebration begins.  Enjoy German-themed meal specials every day of the week as well as a pint of Oktoberfest lager and Harvest lager.  (Bushwakker Brewpub - 2206 Dewdney Avenue). 

Sports, Recreation, and Leisure Events in Regina

(August 27 - September 1)  2019 Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championship.  Over 2,000 Canadian athletes from 40 clubs from across the country, including members of the Canadian National Team, will paddle down Wascana Lake looking to win National titles at the Canadian Sprint Canoe Kayak Championships and the Canadian Masters Championships.  (Wascana Lake).

(September 1)  Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers.  Watch the Riders take on the Bombers in the Labour Day Classic.  Game starts at 1pm.  (Mosaic Stadium).

(September 6)  Queen City Marathon.    This is Saskatchewan’s premiere road race.  Come out and run or cheer on the races.  (Conexus Arts Centre).

(September 14)  Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Montreal Alouettes.  Watch the Riders take on the Alouettes.  Game starts at 5pm.  (Mosaic Stadium).

(September 20) Regina Pats vs Moose Jaw Warriors.    Watch our WHL Pats take on the Warriors.  Game starts at 7pm.  (Brandt Centre).

(September 27)  Regina Pats vs Prince Albert Raiders.  Watch our WHL Pats take on the Raiders.  Games starts at 7pm.  (Brandt Centre).

(September 29)  Regina Pats vs Winnipeg Ice.  Watch our WHL Pats take on the Ice.  Games starts at 4pm.  (Brandt Centre).

Family Events in Regina

(September 4, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28 ) Regina Farmer’s Market. Enjoy a lovely morning outdoors in the City Square Plaza downtown Regina. Check out a variety of vendors including individuals and businesses that make, bake, grow, or design their products right here in Saskatchewan. Watch downtown Regina come alive with the hustle and bustle or locals and visitors enjoying fresh local products! (City Square Plaza - Downtown).

(September 7, 14, 21, 28)  Centennial Market.  Indoor market located in the heart of the Warehouse District with over a hundred vendors.  (1230 Broad Street).

(September 14)  Truck Convoy for the Special Olympics Saskatchewan.  There will be a BBQ, Free Entertainment, Family fun, and a truck pull.  (Global Transportation Hub).

(September 21)  Lumsden Scarecrow Festival 2019.  Take a tour of the 100 public scarecrow displays throughout town, take in the Show n’ Shine at the museum, and done miss the street market and horse wagon rides on James Street.  Festivities start at 10am.  (James Street - Lumsden).

(September 21)  The Crescent School Home Tour.  Enjoy a leisurely stroll through one of the most charming neighbourhoods in Regina and get exclusive access to view inside gorgeous preserved heritage homes.  Tour starts at 12pm.  (2401 Retallack Street).

Adult Events in Regina

(September 29)  The Power of an Unstoppable Woman.  This conference is a movement that inspires, empowers, and unties woman globally.  Enjoy 4 speakers, shopping from local vendors, lunch, and much more.  Doors open at 10am.  (DoubleTree Hotel - 1975 Broad Street).
